After developing hundreds of unique concepts and variations, styling and function exercises were performed. From these exercises, we were able to attain a fresh look that fit well within the current product line and pushed the envelope with one-of-a-kind design features. After the design was complete, our engineering team continued in developing an infinitely adjustable front door and integration of exclusive lighting fixtures.

    By combining two sensors into one compact housing, SMD offers users reduced footprint options for sensing tube occlusions (blockages) and bubble detection. These two switches are each calibrated for the users' application. The occlusion sensor will detect tubing pressure increases over a specified delta increase. The bubble sensor is calibrated to detect bubbles over a minimum pre-described size. Bubble sizes as low a 1 microliter are detectable.     Proximal Flow Sensors for Neonatal Applications

    The SFM3400 is a proximal flow sensor for flow measurements in respiratory applications in neonatology. The neonatal sensor is available as single-use and as reusable solution. The reusable version is autoclavable, washable and sterilizable. Both versions are fully calibrated – a recalibration is not necessary. The digital SFM3400 measures flow rates up to 33 slm, is very robust and has a fast signal processing time. The special design of the flow channel results in minimal dead space and the slightly increased pressure drop ensures high stability in varying inlet conditions. Via medical cones, the sensor can easily be connected to the respiratory cycle.     The SFM3400 is a proximal flow sensor for flow measurements in respiratory applications in neonatology. The neonatal sensor is available as single-use and as reusable solution. The digital SFM3400 measures flow rates up to 33 slm, is very robust and has a fast signal processing time. Compared to its predecessor, the new 3lb SC foam has a single layer construction available in black with 3” x 39” x 79” sheet size, and it can be skived down to ⅛”. The new SC-30 is also less expensive than former SC-31. The surface resistivity is measured from 10^5 to 10^9 ohm, and is ideal for controlled electrostatic charge removal. The new 3lb static control provides shielding when packaging and handling devices that are sensitive to electrostatic discharge (ESD). 3” single layer construction has more uniformed properties and is easier to be fabricated.
